Portugal combines with World Photographic Cup: the Portuguese team was crowned champion in the photography competition that brought together 27 countries
Portugal won the 3rd edition of the World Photographic Cup held at the Europarque congress center in Santa Maria da Feira. They were the winners, with the most professional team of award-winning photographers from the 27 countries in the competition.
World Photographic Cup is a photographic competition whose participation is only possible through small groups, representatives of each country. With an international group of juries, all experts in the field, the distinction of the best professionals is made between the categories: Illustration and Digital Art, Nature, Portrait, Reportage and Marriage.
Diamantino Jesus, Jorge Bacelar and Hélder Couto are three of the seven photographers who reached the final. Diamantino Jesus won gold in the Commercial category and silver in Digital Art; Jorge Bacelar, in turn, brings home the bronze in the Reportage category and Hélder Couto also won bronze in the Marriage category.
According to Lusa, for the Italian Giuseppe Scozzi, director general of the World Photographic Cup, all finalists are winners. “Just like a national team for the Olympics, having one or more of the finalists here is the pinnacle of a career.” The event gives “an opportunity to highlight the work of existing professional associations in each of the participating countries and also to foster greater respect for photographers,” says the director.
Ranked in 3rd place in 2014 and 2nd in 2015, this year the great objective of the Portuguese organization was fulfilled.
